A Pivotal Moment

COHORT began as a label for records I'd worked on but had no home... I quickly learnt that if an artist doesn't have a manager you kind of need to assume that role too if you want to give something the best release you can -  that happened on the first record we released. From that point feeling so integrated with the artist's project and getting to think beyond the current release and what it meant for the future was something I knew I wanted to do more of, I still do. I want to be in it for the long haul.

Advice That’s Stuck

"Assume best intentions and have each other's back". This for me now goes for life as much as work. Remembering that we're all just people often trying our best is something I remind myself when things are difficult to navigate. It's a grounding thought that lifts me out of day to day minutiae and keeps me focused on bringing positive change to the things around me. 

Key Achievements

Darcie Haven reaching an ARIA #2 Aus album, #11 globally with an independent release, a record we made together / Helping our roster release their work without compromise.

A Passion Project

Outside of COHORT I run a creative agency with Joey Clough called Sap (we call it a trial & error lab). I love working on that. Together we work to create cohesive visual worlds not only for artists and their releases but brands, events and books too. We're really passionate about making sure visual language communicates the heart and intention just as much as everything else.

Inspiration and Motivation

Starting my career as a producer, I learned I wanted to help artists realise their work beyond music. How does it look? Where will it go? How should it feel? The job never ends, we’re on the ride together. I love that I get to advocate and push for the artists I work with. That feels just as creative as making music and that keeps me motivated.
